Coaching is a conversation with a purpose.

FAQs

Is coaching for me?

Maybe.

Coaching is for anyone looking for a space to find a new perspective.

It could be your schedule, your job, your hobbies, your time, your relationships — or something you haven't quite worked out yet.

So, what actually happens?

Coaching is a conversation with a purpose.

We talk about what's going on, what could change, what you want, and how you can shape the future.

I listen, ask questions, challenge you when it might be useful, and reflect things back to you.

You don't need to arrive with a plan.

What if I don't know what I want?

You don't necessarily need to know what you want before we start.

You don't even need to know what the problem is.

Maybe there is no problem.

Maybe we find out what it is.

Maybe we find something small to change — something that's better than now.

We can start there.

What's the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching and therapy have different purposes, although there can be some overlap.

I think of it simply as:

Therapy can help you move from -5 to 0.

Coaching explores what happens from 0 to +5.

If I think something other than coaching would be more appropriate for you, I'll tell you.

What are you like as a coach?

I'm observant.

I won't push my own agenda.

I know you know yourself better than I ever could, so I ask questions to help you understand yourself a little better.

I work towards the outcome you want — not the outcome that makes me look good.
